I spent most of 2024 getting my upstate house ready for sale and happy to report that we closed on November 5th of 2024. It was a very time consuming process and kept me from doing the work that I love, designing album packages (at least until I start to look for a larger apartment to purchase here in New York City!)
So I'm happy to report that we did design a killer reissue, for the first time on vinyl in the United States, of Aimee Mann's "Lost In Space." The release date is TBD but we'll be posting the product shot as soon as we get the okay from management.. The package has retrospective liner notes written by Aimee, new illustrations by Seth, jacket printed with glow in the dark ink and a splatter vinyl.
Also in the works, to complement the Cruel World Festival this May, is a reimagining and reissue of the three 'til Tuesday albums in one package. 'Til Tuesday, Aimee's band before she went solo, will be getting together for this one time gig for the first time in more than thirty years.
Aimee Mann, Ted Leo and I gave the closing keynote presentation at ICON 11: The Illustrator's Conference in Kansas City, Missouri on July 2nd, 2022. 4 years in the making, we had a lot of stops, starts, ons and offs but it was worth the wait. We discussed The Art of Process and how an idea becomes an illustration that becomes an album cover. I love the ICON conference and hope to be invited back wherever they hold it in 2024.
Here's some news! I was recently interviewed by the talented illustrator and academic, Jo Davies. She is the co-author, with Derek Brazell, of many books about illustration. This new book will be about ways in which illustrators can find work and will be aptly titled "Getting Clients."
